A Message from the Host

Listen to Today’s Podcast

When I began this site on November 1, 2005, I intended to run through all the Lesser Feasts and Fasts. When people would ask me what I planned to do then, would I go around again, or change the Chapel into something else, I put them off. I figured I would deal with that question when I got to it. Of course, I didn’t make it. Last summer, in the midst of the excitement surrounding my ordination and all that, I started to miss some, and eventually it got later and later, and I just had to set the project down for a time.

I didn’t want to, but it seemed like the best thing to do at the time. Now the summer has come around again, and I’m no less busy. In fact, I’m even busier than I was last year. My work has picked up, and I have a new son that I didn’t know I would have last year at this time. But even so, I’ve been missing Communion of Saints lately. So, I’ve decided to revive the podcast. If you’re still listening, God’s blessings on you for your patience. If you’re coming back because you heard that I’m podcasting again, thank you for returning. If you’re new to the podcast, welcome! I hope that you’re in for a treat.

Regular podcasts will resume on June 16th, with the feast of Joseph Butler, just where I left off last year. We’ll continue with the schedule we were on last time, with new podcasts every feast day. Until then, feel free to browse the archives, and enjoy the podcasts I did last year.

I still don’t know what I should do when we get back to All Saints’ Day. Make your suggestion in the comments, or drop me an email at

Let us pray: O God, the King of saints, we praise and glorify your holy Name for all your servants who have finished their course in your faith and fear: for the Blessed Virgin Mary; for the holy patriarchs, prophets, apostles, and martyrs; and for all your other righteous servants, known to us and unknown; and we pray that, encouraged by their examples, aided by their prayers, and strengthened by their fellowship, we also may be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light; though the merits of your Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Thank you for listening to Communion of Saints. Please join us on June 16th at stjeromeschapel.org for the feast of Blessed Joseph Butler. I’m Micah Jackson. May God be with you.
